Hi. I’m Dave.

I run this tiny corner of the internet.  I help my friends get in shape without all the B.S. or trying to sell them supplements they don’t need.  My friends aren’t elite athletes or that douche guy from that douchey fraternity.  My friends are in their 30’s, married, were athletic in high school then college and life took over.  They have desk jobs, families, spouses, like to drink beer and are trying to get healthier while still getting in the occasional game of beer pong.

Maybe you’re here because you’re overweight. Maybe you feel like you tried everything and are frustrated because you haven’t found success quite yet. Maybe you’re here because you have health risks. Maybe you are just looking for some real information without an agenda attached.

Maybe you just want to wake up, look in the mirror, and say “DAMN! I am a fine piece of ass!”  (I know that’s what I do.)

My mornings look something like this.

My goal is to take the guess work of how to get health and in turn your life, better. I want to educate you on how to work out effectively, set attainable goals, and consistently improve your health and life.

No need to totally overhaul your life right away.  I’m a firm believer in making small changes over time, rather than a total overhaul and you wanting to kill me.

Everybody tries to get in shape and fails many times before finally breaking through.  I’ve failed more times than I care to admit.  If you are willing to work hard, educate yourself, and stay consistent, you can achieve results that lasts for the rest of your life.

What kind of ass names a site Aesthetic Physiques?

I started exercising back in high school without really knowing what I was doing.  Through high school and college, I made every training mistake known to man and got little results.

Then came the turning point…my girlfriend of 5 years broke up with me.  I know cry me a river JT.   It was either drink myself into a coma everyday or turn that frustration to something useful.  I decided to throw myself in the gym and take my frustration out on the weights.  That is when I fell in love with the gym.  All my stress and pain removed by barbells and dumbbells.

Sure it sounds cliché but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

After seeing my results, my friends would ask me to make workouts for them.  What supplements to take? What preworkout to use?  Why do I wear small shirts?

So, I figured if they were confused on these topics, there must me more people as confused out there. So I wanted to help my friends out and Aesthetic Physiques was born!

The theme of Aesthetic Physiques is to “Look Better Naked.” Focus on getting stronger, having fun, having goals and eating right…and your appearance will start to change as a result of that.  Aesthetic Physiques is not just about having a 6 pack or looking like a cover model.  Aesthetic Physiques is about finding you own personal aesthetic physique however you define it.

I am NOT a fitness expert.  I did get my personal training certification from the NSCA a few years back, and have dedicated the past decade of my life to this stuff.   I run this site not from the perspective of a fitness expert with “I know everything, therefore you’re an idiot” attitude, but as normal guy trying to figure this crazy fitness world out with you – a guy who sits at a computer all day long at my day job, loves to play sports and fantasy football, the occasional bottle of wine and really enjoys staying active while pushing myself to be in the best shape I can be.  I am no different than you.  I’ve been doing this for a while so I’ve picked up a few things here and there that might help you.

If you want to lose weight, I can get you there.  If you want to build muscle, I can get you there.  If you want to bounce a quarter off your ass, I can get you there too.

The Aesthetic Physiques Training Philosophy



Now, without the right mental attitude, the pursuit of getting healthy will be a waste of time. It’s easy to make excuses why we can’t eat healthy, or how we don’t have time to workout. It’s the successful ones that play the hand they’re dealt, and get shit done!

We all have lives, jobs, families, pets, friends and more that can keep us from getting in shape.  Rather than use those things as excuses, instead why not find a way to incorporate your changes into your daily life?  No time to go to the gym?  Exercise with your children, or better yet use your children as weights (In a safe way please.  I don’t need any lawsuits).

Who wants to diet and workout without a social life?  NO ONE!  

I’d love for you to join my friends and help each other to turn things around.



You can lose weight and be healthy without lifting a weight.  Fat loss is all based on what you eat.   I’m a huge fan of any diet that makes you eat real food and not having to buy fancy shakes or meals.  I hate spending money on crap.  I also understand that sometimes our lives, jobs, and families often make it difficult to eat healthy 100% of the time, so we do the best we can with what we have.

Eating comes down to a few basic steps:

  • Eat real food as often as possible.
  • Cut back on fake foods and processed foods.
  • Eat in moderation.


Exercise = fun. Personally I hate running on the treadmill for longer than 5 seconds.  So I don’t.  If the idea of lifting weights sounds miserable, then don’t do it!  There are endless ways to burn calories that any and all methods are acceptable, provided they get you results and put a smile on your face.  Yoga, karate, weight lifting, basketball, cycling, Barre whatever it is I want to help you find what it is that gets your heart racing, and help you get better at it.
